Complete/Annual Physical Exams
It is our recommendation that all patients have regular Complete Physical Exams (Annual Screening/Preventative Visit, etc.) every 1-2 years. It is your responsibility to verify that your insurance will reimburse preventative visits if you are scheduled for one - Be advised that some insurance companies routinely do not cover preventative visits (Blue Cross plans especially).
Please bring your medications, (including prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal/vitamin supplements) to your visits or a printed list with dosage and strength. It is a good idea to computerize a list of your medications and any allergies you have so that you can bring an updated copy to your visits.
Don't wait until the last minute! Routine refill requests should be made 3 days in advance. We prefer you have the pharmacy fax us the request (they have our number on file). We will handle it and will contact you if the prescribing provider feels that it is not appropriate to refill the medication for some reason. It is good practice to call your pharmacy beforehand to ensure that your refill is ready for pick-up. Medication refills will not be phoned in after hours or on weekends.
No Show/Cancellation Policy
Failure to be present at the time of a visit ('No-Shows'), repeat 'No-Shows' will be recorded in our system, as it is unfair to schedule and then to not appear for office time which another patient in need might use. Additionally, if you will not be able to make your scheduled appointment, we request 24 hours advanced notice. There will be a $25.00 charge for appointments cancelled or broken without 24 hours notice, or $50.00 for surgeries, physical/complete exams, woman's exams, and new patient appointments.
Please try to give at least 3 days notice for referrals. Some insurance companies require you to be seen by your primary care doctor before we can write you a referral. Additionally, if you have not been seen at our office for this condition, you may also require an appointment as dictated by your insurance carrier.
Payment at Time of Service
Payment or Co-pay due is expected at the time of service. This is expressed in the information your insurance company will have sent you. With some insurance companies, co-pays are not due with certain preventative or procedural (surgical) visits. For your convenience we accept cash, check, debit, and all major credit cards including MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express.
If you have labwork done, please ask your provider at the time of the visit when to expect to get your results. Usual turnaround time for routine bloodwork is around 2 days, and x-ray, EKG, and bone density are same day. ECG/CAT/MRI and scan studies done at Medical Center of Plano or another local facility can take a few days or a little longer to receive.
Our doctors are on staff at and admit patients to Medical Center of Plano. Dr. Lowry still oversees his patients' care at MCP.
Our doctors are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our phones are answered 24-hours a day, however, appointments, cancellations and prescription refills should only be made during regular office hours and will not be recorded after hours.
